An encryption (or decryption) operation is any time a data element is encrypted (or decrypted). E.g., a single field in a database column, or an entire database row, or a file in a storage repository.
No. We only charge for whichever is greater for any given billing period. E.g. if you have 10,000,000 encryptions and 15,000,000 decryptions in any given billing period (usually a single month), you will only be charged for decryptions.
